Bays West Precinct Strategy

White Bay Power Station

Bays West Precinct

The Bays is an evolving urban area located two kilometres west of the Sydney CBD. This precinct includes notable locations such as Blackwattle Bay, Wentworth Park, Glebe Island, Rozelle Bay, and the iconic White Bay Power Station and Bays West.

It is envisioned as a new kind of Sydney urbanism—one that celebrates its natural, cultural, and industrial heritage while delivering innovative and sustainable spaces for living, working, and recreation.

Stage 1 of the redevelopment centres on the adaptive reuse of the White Bay Power Station, with plans for up to 250 new homes (including affordable housing), 78,000sqm of commercial space, and over four hectares of new public open space.

We have recently been engaged to further develop the Bays West Place Strategy as well as inform the Retail planning framework for both Stages 1 and 2 of the Precinct.
